Virtual Movement Class with a Unique Framework
Service Description
Elemental Core provides a framework to include all of the important components of a comprehensive core and movement program for recovery from birth or injury, but also to maintain movement health and longevity. This class will run weekly, and we will cycle through different foundational core and pelvic floor principles. I am partnering with Kelsey, physical therapist and owner of Nuture HER Power to lead the classes, and I will be present as well. For now, the classes will be on zoom for ease of scheduling, and also because anyone who signs up will automatically receive the recordings - so if you can't make it live, don't worry! You will have everything you need to put some intention into your body until the next class, and it will help you have a structure and framework for an effective exercise program at home. And don't worry if you worry that you are not ready for some of it - the unique structure of this class is Kelsey and I KNOW your story and what is going on in your body, and therefore we can build your tolerance and meet your body wherever it is. AND you have both of us as active resources. In my mind, I structure a comprehensive core and movement program around the elements - you can think about it this way if it motivates you, or forget it all together if it feels too "woo-woo", it doesn't matter because you are going to still get the important components :) We will cycle through 4 focuses per month: Water - Fluidity in the core, pelvis and ribcage with the ability to move through different shapes and spirals with connection and control. We will use different breath patterns and stability principles while improving mobility Earth - Grounded work to notice strength and connection to whatever is grounded, improves balance and core stability in more complex and unstable poses to find connection and length and work on the nervous system. Fire - More traditional strengthening with adding loads, building heat and strength in the body, breath and alignment control Air - A feeling of lightness in the body, working through more dynamic and agility types of motions, plyometric movements, creating a springy-ness in the core and pelvic floor, and all joints.
