PREGNANCY

During pregnancy, physical therapy can often lessen the strain and pain that can develop during pregnancy and keep you active and strong in your body, which is also important for labor and recovery. Gaining an understanding about how to reconnect to your body in the postpartum period is so important so you know what to expect and what you can do to take control of your healing.

POSTPARTUM HEALTH AND FUNCTION

Your body has done AMAZING things and now it is time to move forward into this new body with strength and power and safely get back to the exercise and activity you love.  There is a gap in care and most women are not taught how to properly heal, re-align, and re-connect with their bodies after pregnancy and birth.  As a result they might struggle with things like pain in different parts of their body, instability, abdominal separation, and leaking pee or gas as they increase their activity in exercise, sport, or just daily life of caring for kids.  These things are "common" but NOT "normal"!  This is where I come in.  It doesn't matter how long ago you had your baby - weeks, months, or years - it is never too late to heal and improve your function!

MENOPAUSE

Did you know?? A physical therapist can play a significant role in helping women navigate the challenges and changes that come with menopause. While menopause is often associated with hormonal shifts, it can also lead to physical changes that impact a woman's overall well-being.

Menopause can affect joint mobility and flexibility. A physical therapist can guide you through exercises and stretches to maintain or improve joint range of motion, enhancing your overall movement quality.

It's important to find a physical therapist with experience in women's health and menopause. They can work collaboratively with your healthcare team to create a comprehensive plan that addresses your unique needs and goals during this stage of life.
